The Pakenham Arms,
1, Packenham St, London, WC1X 0LA
Photo Taken on a walk from Kings Cross to Farringdon stations, Nov. 07.
SignA portrait of the commander of the British forces at the Battle of New Orleans and hero of the Peninsular War, Lieutenant- General Sir Edward Pakenham, G.C.B. He was killed at New Orleans and the British lost, but I assume the pub was named to commemorate the fighting in Spain.
Pub Opposite the Mount Pleasent sorting office, so always full of posties staring and drinking steadily, and there are few groups who can do either better. Large selection of real ale. I like this place.
