The Betsey Trotwood,
56 Farringdon Road, London, EC1R 3BL
Photo A walk from Kings Cross to Farringdon stations, Nov. 07.
Sign Named after a Dickens character. I like wood engraving, and would like to learn how to do them, and I think this sign shows the visual strength that style of illustration can have
Pub I will always bare a grudge against Shephard Neame for the death of King & Barnes, the golden brewery of my youth. I have to say though that they seem to leave their pubs free of make-overs. This area has a long history of darkness and the loach feeling of the pub fits that perfectly, and I love it. I may still do a show here and I once sold a Walburgas to a cute New England barmaid here.
