Bradwan Christmas 09 poem and backgroundWeaving wood we wish for wonderPhysics plants a pulse to ponder With warming wishing Shaping stars shows safety still Making mind for missed and missing Taking time for truths and thrill Turning twisting testing thunder Seeking spirit for souls asunder Marking mind for magic meeting Fitting fest for fair and fill Finding favour from fair and fleeting Sparking sense of sharing still Link to ALL the drafts of the above poem Below is what is written inside the card cardI think this is the 25th year since the first Christmas pylon card. I made this year’s from sticks and twigs (mostly sycamore) gathered near my house. I put 4 big sticks in the corners of a big, plastic plant pot and wove the rest around them, it stands about 150 cm. The star is made from 2 origami stars (design Megumi Biddle) stuck together and hung on the gantry with string. The ‘power lines’ is my washing line. The hardest bit was carrying the whole thing round my garden, trying to find a place for a clear shot. I ended up with it on top of my wheelie bin and me lying on my back in damp grass. The poem on back was done at home over a few days of hard grind. Last year I created several events, including the UK Hat Throwing Championship several Kipling shows, a Priestley show and The Ilkley Festival Uncut Fringe. I also co-produced City Heroes - The city of Bradford, Bradford City, the F.A. Cup and the war to end wars. Next year I am planning a Walburgas show on the 24th or 25th Feb. and will be involved with the Save Our Odeon group. Link to the photo the image was taken from |
